Festival Artist - London Literature Festival
Gilbert and George, London Literature Festival
I'm thrilled to be Festival Artist for the London Literature Festival at the Festival Hall on The Southbank.
It's a great honour and so exciting to be listening to and sketching the top creative names in the artistic and literary world:
Michael Morpurgo of War Horse fame, Alexander McCall Smith -The Ladies Detective Agency, Ali Smith talking about exhibition at The Hayward Gallery, 'love is what you want', by Tracey Emin.
I am loving this new artistic challenge and I was fortunate to have had lots of practice in April when I was this years Artist in Residence for Wenlock Poetry Festival where we also had The Poetry Takeaway.
The London Southbank Centre oozes positive energy, its grey concrete decorated it is bursting with life, people and events.
A line of colourful beach huts, a sandy shore, allotments, water fountains and gardens to relax and children play.
This brilliant festival is celebrating contemporary Literature alongside the 60th Anniversary of The Festival of Britain with 1950's nostalgic memorabilia; when spirited Londoners licked their war-wounds and said, let's party. A total inspiration in itself!
