Background & CV
The foothills of the Rocky Mountains, in Calgary Alberta were my birthplace, my mother and brother are English, father a Canadian airman. At three years old I came to England and stayed to the present time.

I was educated at state schools and when my Mum remarried, I went to the Hillside Convent in Farnborough, Hampshire and progressed to Further Education at the Guildford School of Dance and Drama.
After this worked happily in Theatre playing character parts, Juvenile leads and A.S.M. in Summer Seasons, Weekly Rep, Touring Theatre and Pantomime around England and Scotland.
Lived a year in Bristol and went to Filton Tech’ and did 3 A.Levels.
Moved to the Midlands where I attended Shrewsbury Art Foundation Course, and went on to do a Fine Art Degree Course at Birmingham University as a mature student.
Became married for second time and had four lovely children.
I discovered time management, juggling my painting along side rearing the family, a useful skill that helps me now with running my own Studio Gallery.
My second career choice took precedence when I became a single parent.
During the last twenty years my paintings have been shown and bought from galleries in London, Paris, Dublin and Belfast and around England.
I have abundant creativity and choice of medium various. My painting subject matter is drawn directly from around me, farm animals, people, landscape and flowers.
I enjoy exploring new media, and fine tuning existing skills with oils and watercolour, as you may see if you visit my website.
It is important to me that my images are imbued with energy and radiance through the way I use the colour and paint, or any other medium.
Fry on the Wall Studio Gallery.
The Gallery was opened in 1998 by actor Carole Boyd, who plays Linda Snell in B.B.C. radio drama’s The Archers.
In 2002 I moved it to a 12th century manor house in the Shropshire countryside, close to Much Wenlock.
Here at The Marsh Barn I find it an inspirational environment, and the space affords people an exciting opportunity to view a wide selection of paintings and see me at work.

Artist Statement.
I am inspired by certain paintings where I can feel the living hand of the artist in the marks, as if they had directly found a connection to their essential truth through the language of picture making.
The artist’s intelligent heart, vitality and sensitive vision survives beyond them and their lifetime speaking to future generations.
Vermeer, Van Gough and Monet are favourites also Georgia O’Keefe.
Picasso’s Retrospective in 1967 took my spirit to previously unknown levels.
I especially enjoyed the humour in his sculpture.
After many years of being a servant of the images in oils or watercolour that I represented on paper or canvas, I am becoming more expressive in my paintings.
I want the colourful vitality and aliveness I admire in other’s works to be present in mine, communicating with honesty my love for life.
